These Terms of Use govern your use of societiesinsurance.com (the “Site”), operated by Cavlogix Corporation, doing business as Societies Insurance (in California, doing business as Cavlogix Insurance Agency) (“Societies Insurance,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we are
Societies Insurance is a licensed insurance agency. We act as an agent or broker to help you find insurance from insurance companies. We are not an insurance company, and we do not issue policies or pay claims. Coverage is provided by the insurance company that issues your policy. Products and coverages are not available in every state. License information for our agency and producers is available on request.
2. Information only, not advice
Content on the Site, including product pages, guides and brochures, is general information. It summarizes coverage and is not a complete description of any policy. The actual policy, including its terms, conditions, limits and exclusions, controls what is covered. Coverage you receive may differ from what is described on the Site. Nothing on the Site is legal, tax or financial advice. Please talk with one of our licensed agents about your specific needs.
3. Quotes, applications and coverage
- Requesting a quote or submitting an application, including an online application, does not bind coverage and does not guarantee that coverage will be offered.
- Coverage is bound only when the insurance company agrees to it and you receive written confirmation of coverage from us or the insurer, and any required premium has been paid. Until then, you have no coverage.
- Quotes are estimates based on the information provided and are subject to underwriting. Final premium, terms and eligibility are set by the insurance company.
- We may decline to submit a request or application, and insurance companies may decline to offer coverage.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to give complete, accurate and truthful information in any quote request or application, and to tell us promptly if anything changes. Incomplete or inaccurate information can lead to a policy being rated incorrectly, cancelled or rescinded, or a claim being denied, and knowingly providing false or misleading information to obtain insurance may be a crime. If you provide information about other people, such as drivers, household members, owners or employees, you confirm that you are authorized to do so.
5. Electronic communications and signatures
By using the Site’s forms and online applications, you agree to receive communications, documents and disclosures from us electronically, and you agree that your electronic signature on an online application has the same effect as a handwritten signature. We record the date, time and IP address of each electronic signature. You may request paper copies, or withdraw your consent to electronic records for future transactions, by contacting us.
6. Saved applications and uploads
If you start an online application, you may save it and return to it for up to 30 days, after which an unfinished application is removed. You are responsible for keeping your saved-application link or email private. Documents you upload, such as loss runs or prior policies, must be documents you have the right to share. We use them only to quote, place and service your insurance, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Payments
Premiums are payable as set out in your policy and the insurance company’s billing terms. Where we accept a payment by credit card, a processing fee of 3.5% applies where permitted by law, and we will tell you the fee before you pay.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to submit false information or another person’s information without authorization; to send spam or harmful code; to try to gain access to restricted areas, accounts or data; to interfere with the Site’s operation; or to copy or scrape the Site’s content by automated means.
9. Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, brochures and applications, are owned by Societies Insurance or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view and print content for your own personal or business insurance needs. You may not otherwise copy, modify, distribute or use it commercially without our written permission.
10. Third-party sites and services
The Site may link to insurance companies, government agencies, social media and other third-party sites. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, products or practices.
11. Disclaimers
We work to keep the Site accurate and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Societies Insurance and its officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site. This section does not limit any duty we owe you as your licensed insurance agent under applicable law, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Societies Insurance harmless from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your state of residence must apply. Any dispute about these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
